Springfield Energy

Springfield commenced trading operations in 2008 to meet the local demand for imported refined products as well as crude oil and became one of the pioneer players in Ghana’s downstream sector.

We obtained a license in 2010 as a Bulk Distribution Company (BDC) from Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority (NPA) for the procurement, sale and distribution of petroleum products to Oil Marketing Companies (OMC’s) and refineries.

Leading exporter of refined product

Over a period of five (5) years, we supplied 12.5% of Ghana’s petroleum products requirement and exported refined products to neighboring land-locked countries such as Mali and Burkina Faso in the West Africa sub-region. We were also the first independent Ghanaian entity to lift the Government of Ghana’s crude oil entitlement from the TEN field in 2016 and 2017.

Springfield Ashburton-Exporting crude oil

The Group ventured into Nigeria in 2011 where we became active in Nigeria’s downstream sector by exporting crude oil. We also successfully handled the export of a new gas to liquid product (condensate) with the attendant complex logistics. These products were placed directly in Asia, South America and parts of Europe.
