Our business model is to operate as a fully integrated entity across the entire value chain of the oil and gas industry. In the upstream, we operate our pioneer asset in a safe and sustainable manner that delivers long-term value to investors and stakeholders with the least impact on the environment. Our vision is to expand our upstream investment portfolio across Africa in predominantly large-scale gas and oil projects. We aim to explore cleaner sources of energy and in this regard, are focusing on developing our natural gas fields as a cleaner source of energy. We intend for our Gas to be utilized primarily for power generation and be a part of Africa’s industrial revolution and economic transformation.
Upstream
In 2008, Springfield was registered with the aim of becoming an Exploration and Production company. In 2012 the process to acquire a Block in Ghana started. We commenced our involvement in upstream exploration and production opportunities, when the Government of Ghana awarded us our pioneer asset, West Cape Three Points Block 2 Offshore Ghana (WCTP2). WCTP2 covers 673 square km located in the Tano / Western Basin.
We are the Operator and majority interest holder of WCTP2 with the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation and its exploration company (Explorco) holding the remaining interest.
Pioneering Upstream in Ghana
We are the first home-grown independent, first African entity to hold a majority interest and operate an oil and gas asset in Ghana and our goal is to be the first such entity to operate a producing oil and gas block in Deepwater offshore Ghana.

We leverage our partnerships with experienced international and local firms to boost our financial and technical capacity, further our local content development and capacity building objectives and to bring value addition to the economy.
Exploration
We have successfully undertaken a 3D seismic, evaluated and reviewed the data and drilled our maiden well-Afina-1x which produced a world-class significant discovery in our WCTP Block 2. We more than doubled our existing discoveries to over 1.5 billion barrels of oil with 0.7tcf of gas in place. We are currently looking to put our fields into production
